Dear Friends,

Season's Greetings. It's hard to believe a New Year is almost upon us. I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm pleased to announce that my latest film Seraphim Falls, a period piece set in the post Civil War era, co-starring Liam Neeson and myself, and written and directed by David Von Ancken will be released on January 26th, 2007.

Following, look for Butterfly On A Wheel, produced by Irish DreamTime, co-starring Maria Bello and Gerard Butler. It's a psychological thriller directed by Mike Barker and written by Bill Morrissey. Also due for release in 2007, Marriage, an ensemble piece, written and directed by Ira Sachs. Starring Christopher Cooper, Rachel McAdams and Patricia Clarkson, the film is a period piece set in Seattle in 1949, and is a story we can all relate to, one of love and marriage, secrets and sorrows.

Having completed Marriage near the end of summer, one of three films I made back to back, I decided to take some time off this fall and spend it with my family. It gets harder and harder to leave home for long periods of time to make movies as my youngest children are 5 and 9, and it's good being home to share in their adventures.

For anyone who missed the World Cup, check out the official FIFA sanctioned World Cup soccer documentary directed by Michael Apted and narrated by yours truly. The documentary provides an overview of all the tournament's action and drama including never-before-seen footage shot on proprietary 35mm cameras during the quarter-finals up through the final itself.

For those of you in the Los Angeles area you may wish to visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art exhibit: Magritte and Contemporary Art: The Treachery of Images and listen to the audio tour I narrated. This superb exhibition opened on November 19th and runs through March 4th, 2007.

Here's wishing you all a Happy Holiday Season. Stay tuned for more movie news!

Love and only love,
