Benny Andersson Sticks Up For Pierce Brosnan

Abba's Benny Andersson has come to the defense of Pierce Brosnan after critics slammed his singing voice in the 'Mamma Mia' movie.

Pierce gets to sing a few Abba songs in the movie, including 'SOS' and 'When All Is Said And Done', albeit duets with Meryl Streep.

However, if you've heard the album or seen the movie, the common feeling is that Pierce is about as talented a singer as Russell Crowe.

"Everybody complains that Pierce can't sing and it pisses me off," Benny told The Sun newspaper. "I think he has a great voice. He couldn't sing Nessun Dorma but neither could I and I was in Abba".

Pierce has the lead role of Sam Carmichael, opposite Meryl Streep in the movie. Meryl gets to sing solo on a few songs, including 'Mamma Mia' and 'The Winner Takes It All' and she's not too bad either.

As a singer, Pierce makes an excellent James Bond.

"It's like saying Bob Dylan can't sing. It's just not fair. He has a good voice," Benny says.

In Pierce's defense, he knows he can't sing too. He took the role just for fun.
